About Me

Hello, I’m Dr. Morgun Custer

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I have the experience and professional background needed to provide the high-quality care you deserve.

Psychotherapy is both an art and a science, and in my work, I combine expertise in psychology with my passion for helping you heal from the emotional challenges you face.

I have been practicing therapy for nine years. In many ways I do not have a “typical” client: I have worked in various settings with adults of different backgrounds and identities: men, women, young, old, students, professionals, Veterans, people of color, and people who identify as transgender and LGBT+. I am proud to be an affirming provider for all.

For the last three years, I have worked as an assistant professor at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. During that time I provided psychotherapy to medical residents, hospital staff, and members of the community. I was entrusted to train other medical professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health counselors in how to conduct therapy. I taught multiple psychology courses at my alma mater, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I am proud of this background in teaching and training and believe it enriches my approach to therapy.

I have in-person appointments at my office in Austin, Texas, but also offer virtual psychotherapy sessions in both Texas and New York states. I use a confidential and easy-to-use videotherapy platform (TherapyNotes) for virtual sessions and record keeping. If you have any difficulty using technology, I am happy to explain and troubleshoot any issues that come up.

Whether you can meet in person or virtually, know that both are equally effective.

If you have any questions about my professional background or approach to therapy, please feel free to ask during our free 15-minute phone consultation.
